Rianna has consulted for and opened several spas ranging from day spas and club/membership spas to urban hotel spas, resort boutique and mega spas. In the course of her work with the Marriott International and KSL resort groups, she established corporate spa and retail standards, individual spa identity and branding, and assisted in pre-opening, set-up, and training of various spa directors in operational and financial management. In addition, Rianna performed several financial and operational audits and assisted in turnover/interim management for other spas under the corporate umbrella, as well as the sister companies Club Corp and Western Athletic Clubs. In her most recent position as Spa Director for the Spa at La Costa, she honed her skills at union negotiations and managed to increase the local clientele of the spa to 70% of revenues, while producing profit margins in the forties despite decreasing revenues brought by the economic downturn. All while laying the foundation for a complete wellness program with the limited resources at hand.
Known for her strong partnerships with hundreds of industry influences and her passion to create high service standards, Rianna is a contributor to the Spa Insider blog and serves as a board member of the Green Spa Network, a non-profit organization that serves to increase awareness and commitment to sustainability in the spa industry. In the 2011 American Spa Professional Choice Awards, she was chosen Favorite Spa Consultant by her peers.
