Universal Companies is committed to inspiring and empowering people in our three areas of influence to exhibit leadership and implement eco-friendly practices.
We strive to:
Help our employees make our offices and their homes
environmentally friendly.
Work with our customers to make their spas greener and teach green practices to their clients.
Encourage our vendors to apply high environmental standards to their products and manufacturing processes.
Our Sustainability Specialist
Holding a Certificate in Sustainability Studies from the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth and specializing in cosmetic chemistry, Lisa Sykes works closely with our product development team and vendor partners on green product selection and personal care formulations. When she isn't researching and analyzing ingredient declarations, she writes informative articles on sustainable living and wellness.
Our Sustainability Standards
Our sustainability specialist carefully reviews all earth-friendly products before we decide to sell them, and she's especially methodical when examining personal care products. Her personal care product evaluation includes safety and toxicology, social responsibility, efficacy, third party certification, and overall sustainability. Transparency is important. Universal Companies' website discloses all ingredients in all of the personal care products we offer.
Look for the green leaf logo when shopping
We created the green leaf logo to conveniently highlight the earth-friendly products we offer. Each product that displays this logo has undergone conscientious examination for sustainable attributes.
Professional Association:
Universal Companies is a Guiding Star Sponsor of the Green Spa Network, the only non-profit spa industry resource devoted to bringing greening and sustainability to the health, wellness, and beauty community.
