and Sustainability

We employ a sustainability specialist who carefully reviews and evaluates all earth-friendly products for safety, toxicology, social responsibility, efficacy, third party certification, and claims before we decide to sell them. In addition, for transparency, our website discloses all ingredients in all of the personal care products we offer.

In addition to product stewardship, Universal Companies aims to reduce waste at every level of operation and has decreased its carbon footprint by using solar panels at its office. We're also proudly affiliated with the Green Spa Network and Wellness Warrior.

and Core Values Brands

Before you invest your hard-earned money into a brand or product, we invest our time. When you see the Created with Care icon on a product page, you'll know that the product was made with people, planet, and animals in mind. All of this great information is provided under the Created with Care tab, which includes these qualifications:

  • Organic: only if the product is third-party certified organic
  • Natural: consists of natural substances from botanical or mineral origin with certain exceptions. No synthetic fragrance or artificial colors
  • Vegan: absolutely no animal by-products, including beeswax and honey
  • Other attributes: may include products made with pre- or post-consumer recycled content, certified biodegradable materials, or other substantiated claims

Giving Back

We proudly give back to our local community, as well as national cancer research, through a variety of initiatives:

  • Donate a portion of the proceeds from the sale of The Pink Glove to the City of Hope, a leading Southern California biomedical research and treatment center and hospital for cancer and other life-threatening diseases. Since September 2006, we've donated over $300,000 to help fight cancer.
  • Local winter coat drives, holiday toy collection, and food pantry donations
  • Local animal shelter fundraisers and donations
