Expensive and impractical “charge”

I’m new to massage and didn’t understand that the “charge” for these isn’t electricity but a packet of minerals sold separately. These packets cost an additional $100 and can only be purchased in select markets…definitely not a good idea to use these on a regular basis for cost alone. They are quite smooth but large and I have big hands! Wondering if I am better off returning them…
